For you as a visitor

The public pages set no cookies of their own today. We use no cookies for web analytics, ads or tracking and so we do not ask for consent for them.

The language is chosen by the address, for example /en for English. No cookie is needed to remember your choice.

Video and audio from other services

The videos and some podcast episodes play from YouTube or Spotify. Nothing is loaded from them until you click play. Until then everything in the player comes from our own site.

When you click, the player is loaded from the service and your IP address is sent there. YouTube is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, which is the privacy-enhanced mode of YouTube. After the click the player also contacts other Google domains, for example to fetch the video itself. Spotify is loaded from open.spotify.com. The service may then store cookies and similar data in your browser under its own terms. Your click only applies to that player and we store nothing about the choice.

Audio files played in our own player are fetched only when you press play, directly from the service that hosts the episode. That service then receives your IP address and may set its own cookies.

For editors and administrators

When you log in to the admin of the site a login cookie is set. It is strictly necessary for the admin to know that you are logged in and it is removed when you log out.

• payload-token: keeps you logged in to the admin. Strictly necessary.
• __prerender_bypass: set when a logged in editor previews a draft. Strictly necessary.
• payload-theme: remembers light or dark mode if you choose it in the admin. Kept for one year.
• payload-lng: remembers the admin language if you change it. Kept for one year.

Before we introduce web analytics we ask for your consent. This page is then updated with the cookies involved and how long they are kept.
