Command

A short word that starts a recurring workflow in an AI agent, for example a command that reviews a change before it is sent on.

In Claude Code the developer types a slash and the name of the command. The agent then runs a prepared workflow with the same steps every time, instead of the developer describing the task in their own words.

Commands make it easy to follow the team's way of working. A command can, for example, start work on a ticket, fetch the spec, create a branch and finish with a review and a pull request.
