The requirement has applied since 2 February 2025 and covers all organisations that use AI systems, regardless of size. Since the summer of 2026 it has been worded as the organisation having to take measures for the AI literacy of its staff. So it is not enough to hope that everyone has read up on their own.
In practice it comes down to three things: what language models can and cannot do, what must never be entered and what the organisation's policy says. A training session with exercises in your own tools and a list of participants shows that you have taken measures.
According to Statistics Sweden, lack of skills is also the most common reason companies hold back on AI. The same training therefore solves both the legal requirement and the real obstacle.
