A spec contains user stories, acceptance criteria and a plan. When AI agents write the code, the spec matters even more, since the agent builds what is written and nothing else. Whoever has written a clear spec gets the right solution faster.
We work with Spec Kit, where every work item gets its own folder with spec, plan and tasks next to the code. The project's constitution states the rules that always apply, for example that every change must have tests.
The benefit also shows afterwards. Whoever takes over the solution can read why something was built and not just how.
